Where I live Target, Staples, Office Max and Office Depot all have lists of suggested items by grade. If you can't find any lists, I would recommend a cheap tablet and some mechanical pencils for the first day of school. Then she can see if the teacher recommends anything. Chances are all she will need is a 3 ring binder, paper, pens (some teachers only allow black) and pencils (I like mechanical so they don't have to get up to sharpen them). My daughter is going into her Junior year, so I can't remember if they needed much more than that. Sorry.
