Question:My child is less than a month from the Oklahoma State Requirement of child being born before Sept 1st to attend Pre-K at 4 and Kindergarten at 5. Does anyone know of an appeal process or profienciey exam my child can take to by-pass this stipulation?

I live in West Virginia and the county where my kids attend lets Children who miss the date go only if they have the space they just wont let them start until there birthday so they will be 4 when they start .They also make them attend a second year of preschool. If you miss the date for Kindergarten you can put in a request to have your child tested at the board of education and if they pass with a certain test score they will consider letting your child go early .You may want to check with your school board and see if yours has this .
