Check with your teacher before you do this, but explain it's to enhance your paper visually as well as enhance your interest.
Use color~! If you are doing math, write the problem in one color, the answer in another color and if you are showing extensive work, in another color. Use colored pencils that erase and use graph paper (one numeral per square is easy for teacher to read).
If you are doing language arts, make each paragraph a different color. Spelling, each word and it's definition it's own color. I liked to put it in rainbow order (red orange yellow green blue purple).
You don't have to interchange colors, you can make the whole report writting in one color. The next report can be in another color.
