That sucks.
You are getting paid and the kids aren't
because the school district sucks
ARE YOU IN TEXAS?
you are so right! tell your cheap school to get ac! =[
Because you're an adult and should be able to deal with it. Also, you're getting paid to be there.
coz u get paid to be their they dont!
All schools should have air conditioning!
That's horrible! You should call your school board reps and complain. Obviously your superintendent doesn't care! I'm sorry!
get a fan. i know how you feel
That's a great question. You should get a bunch of teacher's to sign a petition against it and bring it up with the board. Those are DEFINETLY not humane conditions! Good Luck!
bring a fan that you plug in and put it where the principal sits and maybe they will give you a raise ( and bring one for yourself too)
Hey you know what you can do though. Have someone check your CO2 levels. Then your union will be on that...you do have a union...right?
Because you are over-paid; no matter what you believe! So, therefore you must feel the pain!
Keep hydrated!
because even on snow days the teachers get to stay
that's the price you have to be an educator
no pay
and you get all the ****
Thats true, but if you are not being paid hourly then I guess you are expected to do work, but you can't in a school environment like that.
wow.
that stinks.
geez.
our school is just the opposite.
they keep the a/c on until novemburrrrrrrrr,
and we don't even need it!
it starts to get cold the first couple days of october!
Because you're required to put a certain number of days in. I'm sorry for you, I don't do well in that kind of heat unless there is a pool around. LOL. Hope you have plenty of fans going. Good Luck
Oh my god. Why don't you have air conditioners? It's 2007.
if you ask me, thats not right. if the kids are allowed to leave the building becasue of intense heat, then the administration should let the entire staff and faculty go home for the day too. contrary to the belief of some people, teachers are human too. if your school let the kids go home because they felt it was a health issue but they didnt dismiss the staff, then they could have a legal situation on their hands.
well because they suck! my school gym doesnt have an a/c and all the ppl sweating!
ps: wawawa STOP WHINING! you stuped teacher im glad im able to say w/e i want to a teacher without being sent to the office and all this ****! ur such a losers teachers whine too much IF U DONT LIKE IT !! THEN LEAVE AND DONT WORK THERE INSTEAD OF WHINING ! GO LOOK FOR ANOTHER JOB! ******!
I have the same question about school busses. I drive a bus in the afternoon's & today it was 104 degrees. The school's are all AC so they don't give a rat's rip about the busses. We as drivers set there in between school's for 30 minutes loading up all ages, setting still in the hot sun behind glass making it hotter, then have a 1 1/2 - 2 hour drive before we get out of the seat again & let me tell you a bus is like an oven in there. I have had a thermometer in my bus before & it has got to 124 degrees setting still, but the schol doesn't seem to care. I have had days I been so weak standing up & dizzy I had to set back down a few minutes on the step to walk & they do not even consider letting us out early. so yes I do feel for you, a child cannot possibly learn anything when they are miserable.
Now, how did we ever get this far in creation without an
air conditioner.
students are attending to learn what you ate gitting "paid" to
teach them.
You can ask to go home. You just won't get paid for it.
We are all hot lady.
While most Americans are losing their homes, due to the
"flooding." And don't even have a "window" to open.
You should be lucky to have a home to go to "with" and air conitioner.
Tommorrow's homework for the whole school should be for
every student to bring a can of food for the Salvation Army.
that way, you will all learn from it, and benefit from it <}:-})
Hey sprinkles, suck it up! Be a roofer for a week and you won't be complaining! :)
I'm semiserious with that. Yes it's a terrible situation, my high school carrer was spent a-airconditioning. We never were sent home even in 100 degree heat. What's more it was inner city and so cleanliness wasn't always the best and the school stank. So I know how you feel.
Best I can say is freeze a couple water bottles and keep em in a cooler next to your desk so you can have a refreshing sip now and again. Might take the bite off. But don't brown bag it, you'll get fired.
When our children were in public schools they were told they had to stay the entire day but had to bring water. The Principal's office, the secretary's office, and the teacher's lounge had air conditioning but not the rest of the school.
I think it's ridiculous to make students at this school stay an entire day in a hot school when the staff has A/C.
Be thankful the kids were out! We are in the same situation & the kids hang all day!
