-history
-biology
then i was going to choose maths and physics, because i wanted to do meterology and they are required but now the thought of that scares me because i dont think im capable and my gcse results(b in maths and B B in science) isnt up to the standards of my school
then i started thinking about marine biology because i always wanted to do it as a kid, which i already had biology chosen but now im thinkin i have to do chemistry too.
other subjects i was considering was business studies and irish because i love irish, and business studies is okay
so should i pick
biology chemistry maths and history
so i keep it kind of all open
or give me advice please, i had trouble the first time, but this has to be decided by tomorrow
advice pleaseeeee
Answers:
that don't sound hard? what math class are you taking? if you don't think you can handle all those classes, then ease back. you have sometime in your side. theres no point in taking all of those classes if you can't do well or up to your standards.
It is a good idea to keep your options open by choosing a variety of subjects as you may change your mind on your career path. If you choose all science-based subjects it may be hard to choose a different type of course at Uni if you change your mind.
Business Studies and History are good for entering most University courses because they can be applied to most careers in some way. If you are thinking you may go into some sort of science-based career then choose the Physics or Chemistry or Biology, as you can use the Business Studies and History to get into other courses if you change your mind on the science career.
history and biology are good choices as they are well respected, if you feel you can do maths too then go for it but don't put too much pressure on yourself, A levels are harder and you would be much better sticking to what you think you could handle to get the grades you want and you could always do more next year so dont worry and go with your instincts
I had same worry and gave up science A level. Friend who got worse grades than me at GCSE went on and staggered through. Wish I'd dared do it. Chemistry's cool as in marine biology. Can you talk to a tutor who will give you an honest measure of your ability? If B b isn't up to standards of school you are priveleged to go there but be aware that some people peak at GCSE level whilst others peak at doctorate level. (I'm one of the latter!) Good luck and all the best for the future.
I chose my alevels last year and did alevels in biology chemistry health and social care and psychology i just got my results and they are average but i chose subjects that would fit in with lots of career paths as i keep changing my mind, so choose something that keeps your options open and something you enjoy i took chemistry but i hate it and find it difficult i just passed it but am taking up law as instead. Also i used to want to do marine biology as i wanted to be a marine mammal trainer but its not all cute sea animals the course involves fishing in freezing temperature in the middle of nowhere and its unlikely youll get your dream job in this specific area. So keep your options open its better to be able to change your mind than to be stuck in a rut knowing you cant do what you want to do. and do something you can enjoyDont let not thinking you are clever enough stop you from doing science i got AA at GCSE and everyone else in my chem and biology did triple science and got AAA but i worked hard and caught up with them if you want something you can get it good luck x
ergh im having the same problem!! follow this that my friend said to me. dont pick the subject from your results. as long as you got a b or c or something. instead pick the subjects you would enjoy. because that way you will put the effort in and enjoy it!
so dont pick buisness studys if you only think its okay!
sorry i cant be more helpfull. im trying to decide for myself..!
