yes,there are 5 major cliques at my school; prep/popular, skater/emo, normal, nerd/geek, and wanna-be's. they all have subcliques and some mix for more combos. all in all, we all get along but the top cliques only hang with their "peeps".
for instance one prep clique will be in rivalry with another prep clique, and they try to move the Top prep clique on their side, wich will get wanna-be's on their side too. then vicious cat fights, rumors, etc. The rivalry will usually fade after a major school break (winter, mid-winter,spring).
*we (all cliques) usually get along with some conditions (no talking, little smiles, class project, etc.) but it's not all "set in stone"

Well my school is basically the preppy kids which are usually the sporty guys and the popluar girls
and then he rest of the people are the same the other ppl and usually the two gruops never talk and well too bad..
mine is the same as yours. At first it may seem cliquey, if you haven't been there before like when I first visited the school, but then you see that while they are groups, they aren't set in stone, or anything like that, and their are no rules. Everyone will talk to you, whether they like you or not, They might talk about you after, but they are nothing but nice to your face.
