How Can I Try Harder In School This Year?

Question:I want to try harder this year but for some reason it's always the same excuses for not studying and not doing home work I really want to do better.
Can you give me some tips on getting on track?

Answers:
Study what you are learning and try to get a deep understanding about it. If you are doing math homework and you don't know what they hell your doing, then it seems impossible and you want to put it off. I look through the section and get it through my head first. Then homework. It makes it a breeze and you are more likely to do it.

Don't let your friends get in your way at school. Its cool to talk to them at lunch, but don't screw off during class. It takes a big toll on your grades when you don't pay attention. Everyone is always complaining how its "too hard", but they don't give a **** and don't try at all. They like to talk instead and it gets them nowhere.

Keep a positive attitude about how much this will pay off in the future. If you are in high school, think about college and that will motivate you to stay on track. Don't get down about a bad test grade and have a "screw it" kind of attitude. The best thing you can do is to do better next time and to try to get that A. One bad grade is not gonna hurt you in the long run.
go to your local library and study...
you have to really want it.
pay attention take notes and stay focused. dont forget about homework and projects. dont leave them until the last minute. but u have to really want to do good. it just doesnt "happen". im sure u know that very well.
