Good Luck!
My answer may cause you grief, and headaches and other "maladies", but, here goes. The #1 (aka:number one) study habit for highschool, and college if that's following, is this:
DO NOT WAIT FOR YOUR TEACHERS TO GIVE YOU HOMEWORK!! GIVE YOURSELF HOMEWORK, ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT THEY DO!! The teachers have been "schooled" to give the poor students a minimal amount of homework that will somehow get you a passing grade, in their class or on aptitude tests or even possibly in college entrance exams, BUT, if you wait for them to give you a true and strong level of education, you'll be waiting for nothing, and that's EXACTLY what you'll get out of highschool, and you'll be taking that big NOTHING all the way through your life with you! God how I wish someone had been able to get that through to me when I was in junior high or highschool, and even in college, where I earned three university degrees, but, try as they might, they never did, so I kept doing the minimal studying I could to get the necessary grades, and that's exactly what I feel I got after all my years in formal education. My dad, God bless his soul, tried earnestly for years to try to get me to study, to pay more attention to my "schooling", and all I gave was what I HAD to give, and that reflects what I graduated with, even though I've got three university degrees. Oh, I've got the papers (degrees) to prove I successfully passed all their coursework, and I have the highschool diploma that shows I did the same there, but, if someone had been able to get THIS ONE FACTOR across to me, I might have been more proud of my accomplishments than I am, and my transition from highschool to college would have been much more rewarding. But remember, this may increase your academic work load because you'll read more and pay attention in class more, and play around less, BUT, the rewards upon completion will stay with you the entire rest of your very productive and rewarding life. So, grief and headaches and other maladies aside, if you follow my one very simple but very challenging rule here, I can guarantee you that one day we'll all be addressing you as "Dr." so-and-so, in whatever career field you choose, and your pride and financial rewards will reflect the efforts you put forth. Trust me on this one. I've "been there and wish I'd done that" as well as I recommend it. I've learned "by the seat of my pants", the hard way. God Bless you.
Try out this student organizer software from www.successtrackersoftware.com... It worked wonders for me...
