meet tons of new people but stay clase to good friends. Do activites that you wouldn't normally think were fun/cool, that is where you will meet the most interesting people! (Speech and Debate for example)
also stay out of the way if you are a freshman, but Sophomores will harass you the most!
Have some self respect, don't do crazy shtuff at parties you might regret it!
don't get involved in too much drama! it makes stuff less fun!
and play a sport! it uses up free time and is cool for meeting people!

Yes, everybody wants to know how to survive in HS because it is so scary.
Even though it seems even scarier, volunteer for school projects. Join group things like choir, band and/or sports.
Believe me I know because I felt just like you and I forced myself to do those things. I had to keep remembering everybody else is just as scared as I was and even more so.
