Is this "Unique" enough?
Here's some additional information:
my GPA: 3.8
SAT: 2150 (yeah, I know it sucks)
and I'm trying to get into cornell.
Answers:
That is very unique! I doubt a lot of high schoolers can talk about that on their applications... I know colleges love to see people put their passions to good use. (I know this guy who got into Harvard... He loves to write, so he organized his own trip to Moscow in order to write for a famous newspaper there.) As weird as it sounds, my passion is preparing kids for the SAT, but I don't know how I can make it into something "unique" as you did.
Frankly ... if that isn't good enough for them and they reject you i'd say " **** them "
You sound like you have some good extra-curricular activities. Taking initiative like you have should be a great plus.
Cornell? Apply there but make sure you apply every place you'd be willing to go. It is getting harder and harder to get into a good college because so many more high school graduates are going to college now compared to when I went.
I dont live in usa but I think such voluntary and social work is awesome and they acknowledge that. Your GPA is also very impressive!
Your dancing talent would also give you edge as it would show that you are an artistic and confident person.
I'd say that's pretty unique. If you have to write an essay for the application, that would make a good topic :)
