Hard work in high school leads to a good college, which leads to a good job, which leads to a better life. But don't take it from me, i didn't get the memo either.
It is more motivation then anything else. If you are motivated to do your work well, then that is a life skill that will carry forward.
For sure, do great in high school. When you do that, aim for the top national schools in America, do well (notice I say do well) in that if you are accepted, do great if you are going to a mediocre one. From there, high job paying offers will splat you in the face. In turn, that will lead to a good life with minimum financial pressure.
