As some who's almost 50, I can say two things:
First, what he said is rather rude.who is he to say whether you "get it" or not? Something you said or did bothered him or offended his sensibilities. That's his problem, not yours. The greatest gift you can ever possess is a strong appreciation for yourself. If I had to say that there was something to "get", it's that. Trust me, many of the adults you meet know less than you do.
It's called irony.
The more and more and more you state the same thing over and over and over again, somehow, MAYBE, before the sun explodes and we all die, you'll get it.

He is insulting you because you are young and he is jealous of your youthfullness. He believes that after you grow older you will have more wisdom and experience and you will see what he means. Whatever that is. But don't forget it is an insult directly to you.
It means you're young and still have a lot of growing up to do...no matter what YOU think.
