Where did the saying "When you fall off the horse, you have to get back on" originate from?

Question:

Answers:
From a very clumsy cowboy.
lol.

i think it probably derived from the bible verse "a righteousman falls 7 times, but 7 times he gets back up"
I don't know it's origins but do know it's meaning. It means if you get hurt doing some things you're best off trying again as soon as possible otherwise you will be afraid of it forever.

For example if you get hurt by trusting someone you oughtn't you should go back being more cautious but trust the people you already did who rightfully earned your trust Or you may never trust anyone again.

Or More literally I was in a bicycle accident in 94. It was rather bad. Thanks to my helmet my injuries weren't but my bike was totaled. Almost a year later a friend had my bike fixed for me but up until then I had not ridden. It took a long time to even sit on the bike again & I never felt as safe or cofortable biking again. The accident was in July. If I had gotten back on even a loaner bike by august I might feel secure riding now.
Does that clear anything up?
Crazyhorse said it to his girlfriend, Riding-horse.
