Old age isn't exactly a set age frame, it's more of a perception.
If you feel sad, you usually feel older than you actually are.
So the sadder you are, the older you feel. And when you feel old, you feel sad. It's a vicious cycle.
That's just my interpretation.
Hope it helps!
i think it means that old age is a kind of mind set, you don't have to consider yourself old. [this is a educated guess.. i haven't read the book]
It sounds like a quote from a middle-aged drunk; anyone who had truly experienced old age would never say such a thing.
In terms of your unread novel and paper: I suggest that you write something like 'the novel shows how people develop a fuller understanding of the human condition through traumatic experience, thanks to the author's skilfull use of characterisation and dialogue.'
Good luck
Because getting older means loss, all kinds of losses is what I get from the meaning. Loss usually means sorrow.
Does it make sense with the book? I haven't read it.
age is just a number, its how u do with ur life that matters. When u have not done anything worthy despite living long, then u would feel sorrow.
