i think it means that at times when you seem to have already know it, you come to realize that you actually know nothing about it. when we ask questions, and we are given an answer, it's as if we are given another question, because, the more we know, the more that we realize that we do not know. simply put, the more that you know about something, the more that you do not know about everything. "i know not a thing that i know." ~i guess
The person saying it is aknowledging that no matter how much he thinks he knows there is alway something more to find out about it, another perspective, another truth.
