Chapter 1, It is daybreak and the light is beginning to dispel the darkness. ( I found this by typing "The Pearl " in my search bar. It gave me the whole story and a summary of each chapter but, no pages).
What exactly do you mean by light versus dark? evne beyond the literal meaning, there are several other ways to interpret that theme. f you have any info please post so i can help. btw i hate that freaking book. i had to read it in 8th grade and it just was so dry; trudging through it was not fun at all.
