This is probably not one you want to hear, but I've found Woody Allen's quote "Bisexuality immediately doubles your chances for a date on Saturday night" to be quite useful.
One that i like is 'forget about the past...its gone, dont worry about the future its not here yet, concentrate on today' that really helps when your down and also if you having a rough time it can be described as 'tripping over some stones on the path of life'
No famous people...but how about "Never see yourself as less than you are" & ""If you obey all the rules - you miss all the fun!" Certainly helped me through life!

Not so much a quote from a famous person, but the most significant quote I ever heard came from a chap who lectured to salesmen. This was,

"The worst thing anybody can say to you is NO"

It doesn't hurt and you can get on with your next target. Remember if you don't ask you don't get any answer at all
