What are your feeling on this quote..." A ship is safe in harbor, but that's not what ships are for" ?

Question:

Answers:
Ships were not ment to be safe. They weren't meant to be safe at the harbor. They were meant to explore, take risks, and have adventures in life.

It's very inspirational for me. It's making me feel like I can take chances. Like I can take risks, risks that help me succeed in life, and explore. By nbeing at the harbor, metaphorically, I am not going to get anything accomplishes, whatsoever. It makes me feel spontaneous and makes want to reach for what I want and work for it, not just lie around in my comfort zone.

I know the ship is me, and the harbor is my area of comfort.
It means in order to fulfill your true destiny, you have to live. You can't stay in the shadows out of fear.
It means that if you don't take risks, you're not doing what you're designed to do, that is, fulfill your human potential.
Inspirational and symbolic. It makes me feel that we all have a purpose in life and we each have our own things that we are good at. Also, we should make the most out of them and try our best to use what we have to live and contribute to society.
It means that in life you have to take risks, that's what being human is all about. Yeah a ship won't have any issues in the harbor but they are built to go across the sea.

It's a good one.
Reminds me that in order to really live I will have to take risks. If I play it safe all the time and am scared, I will not be using my life for what I could be.
Since the word "safe" is used, the quote is certainly suggesting risk. But I also think it's about potential. Parking a ship in a harbor 24/7 is like using a laptop for a paper weight.

We all have potential that is likely greater than the lives we lead. We'll never approach that potential if we play it safe and "never leave the harbor" .
