Tell me what this phrase means to you?

Question:Experience is the hardest teacher, it gives you the test first and then the lesson.

Answers:
Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes
--Oscar Wilde

Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
--Franklin P. Jones

When you join the class of "life" you're ignorant on the lessons until you've either
1-realized there's a test or
2-Failed to see there was even an obstacle.

Either way, it was a mistake you were meant to make, and have learned from that.
The best way to learn anything is to just go out and do it. Do it and learn what did and did not work.
I think what it is saying is that you arnt going to be able to get everything right away.[test] it will become easier if you keep doing it [lesson]
Its all in how you handle a given situation.
Some have to learn the hard way, as in not taking advice or listening to their better side.
For one to learn anything from experience, we should have undergone something. To experience means to actually go through it or being a part of something, in reality, which is actually the test itself already. If you did not go through any thing, how can experience teach you otherwise? It is not similar with reading a book or watching TV, which you are not part of what's happening. Here you are given first the lesson, then the test.
Reading something in a textbook is the easy part. Applying things in real life is the real teacher. We embark on a task not knowing where, how to go about it. You reflect back on what you have done and you realize the things you have learnt.
There is no try. Just do. Learn from the mistakes.
The "test" is the situation we face, that question we don't have the answer for. Once we choose an answer, we get to learn whether or not that answer was correct. This is how we gain experience, and it is how experience teaches us.
we learn from our experiences, either good or bad... what's good in failing and winning the game is that we learn not the theories about how things go and move, but we learn how 2 live... and it really differs from any other forms of teaching or education,,,proper education, along with good practice and experiences are the key to our success...
To me it maens, what better way to learn something by actually getting involved physically, rather then learn it out of a book. Like in the 5th harry potter book, the kids do not want how to defend themselves through a book, they would rather learn Defense against the Dark Arts through really practicing it first handed even if it mentthey could get cought. Even though you might not know how to do it the first time that you try, if you keep trying then you will succeed, but how will you know if you can do it, if you haven't practiced it yet?
