Quoting- Simple question :]?

Question:when writing the title of a novel in an essay do you underline, put quotation marks around it, or do you do both?

Answers:
You only underline a novel. You do not use quotes...they are used for poems, short stories, etc...
underline
Underline it or use italics.
capitalize the first letter of each word, quotation marks go around a statement that someone speaks in your story
When reading "Gone With The Wind," I was interrupted by the phone ringing. Also, Italicize the title and surround by quotes.

there are several schools of thought, i would be safe and do both.
I would underline the title of a novel, but some say that's old-fashioned. Now quotations marks seem to be the style. But for me those refer to articles.
