Where does this quote come from? "You forgot the first rule of the fanatic..."?

Question:Anyone know where this quote comes from? "You forgot the first rule of the fanatic: when you become obsessed with the enemy, you become the enemy."

I've looked all over the internet and mostly found references to some episode of Babylon 5, but I know for a fact it didn't start there because the episode premiered in 1994 and I heard it before that on another show that aired in 1991. Either way, the quote seems a little too profound for either TV show, so does anyone know where it might originate from?

Answers:
Sounds to me like a rehash of Nietzche's quote:

"Be careful when you fight the monsters, lest you become one."
Friedrich Nietzsche

ETA: I don't know if this is even original to Nietzche though
All I could find was that it was from an episode of Babylon 5 called "Infection". Sorry.
