Question:

Answers:
It was something said by parents to their children, reminding them in code form to remember to say Please and thanQou when they were away from home. In other words a reminder for politeness!
watch/use your manners
I Believe it is MIND your P's and Q's. It relates to the fact that some tend to stray(usually at the table).
Usually it just means to watch your manners. I'm not sure where it came from. According to a British on line dictionary.
Mind your P's and Q's. Be very circumspect in your behaviour. Several explanations have been suggested, but none seems to be wholly satisfactory. The following comes nearest to the point of the caution:- In the reign of Louis XIV., when wigs of unwieldy size were worn, and bows were made with very great formality; two things were specially required, a “step” with the feet, and a low bend of the body. In the latter the wig would be very apt to get deranged, and even to fall off. The caution, therefore, of the French dancing-master to his pupils was, “Mind your P's [i.e. pieds, feet] and Q's [i.e. queues, wigs].”
One interpretation is that it means mind your "Pints and Quarts". In pubs when people would start arguing, the bartenders would tell them to mind their own drinks... being pints and quarts!

There are a number of other interpretations.
It means mind your pints and quarts. Back in the day when people would get drunk and argue in the bar the bartender would tell them to mind their pints and quarts...your getting drunk and two loud you might want to stop talking now...
