Question:why do builders not like to lower home prices because it sends the wrong signal to potential buyers

Answers:
As with anything else, if the price has previously been higher, it makes it look as if they couldn't sell it, and so have lowered the price to try to do so. This might make people think that there is something wrong with the property. (Think of the sales in clothes shops where they only have the huge and really tiny sizes left at the end and, if they fit you, you can get them for next to nothing because not many people want them)
