Who originally said, "It isn't how much you do, it's how well you do it?"?

Question:I've heard that quote thrown around all my life, but I'd like to know where it originated, and find the original source text. Thanks so much for any help you guys can give me.

Art Garfunkel.or his wife
I dunno, but I will be tellin my boss that one tomorrow
Are you asking who said it , or who "coined" the phrase...because even I've said it a thousand times over and I'm sure many of us have. Art Garfunkel may have said it...but I think you want to know who "COINED" the phrase...and I don't think it was Art Garfunkel. Correct me if I'm wrong.
This much is clear: somebody's mother originally said it!
I don't know, probably someone unknown. but I havn't heard that in a long time.
It can be said as:
Quality is better than Quantiy
or a variation of: Do it right the first time.
It will be interesting if someone can find out for you.
