Question:For an assignment in my English class I need to find a quote and write about it. How would I cite the quote, would it be okay to say the name of the person said "quote". If i do that it wouldn't be considered plagiarism correct?
Answers:
Quoting a few words, such as "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet", is not plagiarism. Plagiarism means taking a large amount of text (at least a paragraph) and presenting it as your own.
For the assignment you should write the quote first, in quotation marks, then say who said it, where and when, and then discuss it.
