To answer your question "does this quote make sense?" yes, it indeed makes sense to me.
Regard of the 2nd part, I don't know how to change it to better unless you want to change "but" to "however" or something that makes the quote more "serious" or something.
Even though I think the way it is is already great.
I like the quote by the way :) There are surely a lot of people rather prefer to live in their own imaginary world than face the reality even though if they really face it, reality can be even better than movie world. Anyways, it is a great quote :)
