I WAS BORN INTELLIGENT BUT EDUCATION RUINED ME..whats the meaning of this?

Question:

Answers:
it's a contrivance from an albert einstein quote: "the only thing interfering with my learning is my education"

both phrases mean this: you dont get smart from school, quite the contrary, school deteriorates your intelligence with it's disorganization and varying patterns. it diminishes your potential with subjective things such as essays that a teacher can mark you down for if they simply dont like you, not based on your merit. in this way, we are held captive by the pen, and belittled by it.

whoa, didnt mean to wax all philosophical there!
It means he didn't like school very much.
he couldnt roll with the system
it means they went to a rubbish school where their education was ruined so they didn't bother and became an idiot.
Education does not ruine but gives us reasons to undersatand and believe.
I think this means:

We are a naturally inquisitive animal, and we learn from what we discover.

The systematic delivery of education can stifle natural curiousity, deaden instinctive learning and damage the ability to learn through experience, leaving people only trusting what those in 'authority' deem right for the individual to know.

I think that this may be true for some, whilst others thrive better in an enforced, drip-feed educational system.
In an industrialized country kids are educated not to make them smarter but to teach them to conform to the system, so they will be productive. In school there is a penalty for thinking for yourself, you learn to accept the perspectives and values of 'the system.

Aristotle thought work was demeaning, it was for slaves and inferiors. A 'gentleman' should spend his time thinking and learning. But in the world today we all have to work so we are taught the importance of work, and to -want- to work.
Education sort of 'brain- washes' us. It tells us to conform to set beliefs and values and discourages independent thinking and opinions.
intelligence makes you curious, creative, investigative. Bad education can turn you into blotting paper for facts, and kill your creative side. Good education will however nurture these
It means that all educators are liberals...
You were born with everything you will ever know. You are influenced by parents, school, the world, etc. That's why you sometimes will think of something and say to yourself, "I knew that!" and you wonder where it came from.
i think it means that you were born being encouraged by parents. family..etc but then the school was teaching at the level below you, so you weren't learning anything. This would result in your education and knowledge going downhill.
When I was 18 and enrolled in a very good engineering school, I was helped by a local machinist who said to me: "You're an intellectual. Do you know what that means?"

I thought he was impressed with the ideas I was throwing around in the place where I was working part-time, but then he went on to say: "An intellectual is someone who has been educated beyond his intelligence."

If you are intelligent, and you allow education to ruin you, you aren't using your intelligence. Education is something to use, not something to conform to.
