Does this verse explain cleary the meaning behind "children of God"?

Question:In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
1 John 3:10

in this verse it mentioned "children of God" and "children of devil". the word Children is not litterally mean children as we understand today, but the word children of God means the follower of God or the servents of God. God is not your daddy.

Answers:
makes sense

there is also a quote of the children of the angels, which is thought to be of the second fall of angels, those who took mortal lovers...

the followers could also be unknown followers. i deny god and support the devil, but i do gods work. go figure.

Like we do not always know who our parents are, but we have the traces of them in ourselves.
(example: i think of ways that support the devil and his thinking, but i help anyone who needs it and asks for it, and i go out of my way to get people to think)
i think the gospel of john explains it bettter, john 1:12-13
(speaking of those who believe in Jesus)

"but as many as have received him, to them gave he power to become sons of GOD even to them that belive on his name. which were born, not of blood, nor if the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of GOD"

what this means is that we through the new birth Jesus explains to nicodemas (John chapter 3) we become GOD's adopted children in this world. The power to bestow sonship on us belongs to Jesus, and we gain that sonship by believing in his name and works.

God is our Father in that he created us, HE supports us, and Jesus commanded HIS diciples to pray "our FATHER in heaven".
