Explain to me what this statement mean?

Question:"Terror can be endured so long as a man simply ducks;-- But it kills, if a man thinks about it."

Answers:
Dwelling on your fears can paralyze you.
killing can go on as long as someone doesn;t die but the minute he does it's over
Im not sure but I think it means that you can deal with bad things if you avoid them and don't think about them, but when you do think about it, it "kills", ie: that's when it really affects you.

I think it's a quote about how different the effect of "terror" is if you "duck", or avoid it, or if you think about it.
The fear of something can be (and often is) worse than its actual happening. ~
Don't cross a bridge before you get to it.
you can endure fear when u dont think directly about it. if u let urself think about it it'll will make u automaticly scared.
It means that life can go on even if terror (whether by terrorists or other means) happens, as long as people simply deal with it and work around it and just go on with their lives (or duck to avoid the danger). But if you dwell on it and let it control you, it wins and 'kills' you by your letting it control your life and your decisions.
