Social problems?

Question:Well..i have never been good at socializing, and i am always alone..i was ok in elementry, its just middle school-highschool when it started..i became aware of my problem with talking, i say the s like, sssss instead of just a normal s, and i do d instead of t, how you would day the, to dah, i have problems, and i didnt have enough encouragement to talk and thats how i became shy, i was seperated from my friends, that influenced this more, and it went on until i was completly alone, this continues..I want help..how can i break out of my shell is basically what im saying..

It sounds as though your speech problems are affecting your self-esteem and ability to make friends. Go to your Guidance Counselor and ask her if she can arrange for you to see the speech therapist - or ask your parents to call. You also have several options of joining clubs in middle school. Look for things that interest you and you will find other people there who share your interest. Now that I re-read your letter it sounds like you may be out of HS - and if that's the case you can find a private speech therapist to help you with the "sss" sounds and there are organizations out there to join to meet people with like interests.
