Please give me your opinion/feelings or fact re: "level onestatus" for special education?

Question:my son is 7,academically gifted, genius level in math, highly verbal and articulate, yet his poor impulse control and seemingly constant need for physical contact both affectionate and agressive. As well as obvious stimuli oversensitivies ie moodswings caused concerns eventually labeled Emmotionally disturbed. He is not currently placed
anywhere but I found a nearby private school called The Oakes Childrens Center.any thoughts also any advice on sfusd handling IEP problems

Answers:
go to the school and see how they handle things - talk with the administrator - see if you can talk to some parents.

you may want to consider taking your son off sugar, maybe gluten or milk - sugar is an easy one - maybe some allergy testing.

there are lots and lots of children that are more then a handful - school is really boring - kids are used to so much more stimulation then when we whent to school..

a highly interactive class room may be just the ticket for your active child - labels such ya know - schools fail children and then label the children - what is that about?

but seriously take him off all sugar - that is a real easy quick fix - i worked in day care centers and after the kids had apple jucie all hell broke lose.
