Listening, for some reason I am able to rember what I hear and am able to easily store this information. However, when it comes to learning by doing things tend to be the most difficult.
Read it, write it, say it aloud. Also try association and mnemonics (a device, such as a formula or rhyme, used as an aid in remembering).

Some people are visual learners, others do better hearing. I like to hear, see examples and I use note cards to write down one or two lines to jar my memory.
