Just wondered how i should addapt the activity for them as i am used to working with 'normal' children

If it s water tray sensory type activity there are probably not many adaptations you need because the goal is usually for the kids to explore at their own rate and experience the activity in their own ways. YOu may want to provide additional modeling of how to play with different toys since some kids may not know exactly what to do and infuse it with lots of simple repetitive language as this is almost always an area of need, but just have fun. I am sure they will be having fun also.
It depends on what the special need is and how severe.
You just need to consider every disability. For instance children with low cognative skills may need lots of structure but children who have physical disabilities may need an activity that will accommodate a wheelchair or a slower pace.
I always like to assume my special ed kids can do things instead of automatically adapting things. So assume they are "normal." Then structure your activity so that if you need to explain it step by step you can. You might make up a visual poster showing the steps so they have something to refer to (examples). Most important is patience as it may take twice as long, or they children may need more hands on help from the adults. I think this is a good opportunity for you to learn about kids with special needs --- they are first just children. Best of luck!
Depends on the children the ages and if they are in wheel chairs. You may need to make it shorter for the kids if they are in wheel chairs and if they are older you may want to make it a little taller. But nothing other than that. All kids love to play in the water.
patient and plenty of explanation broke down simpler. stand back and think what MAY bother the child what is differant?
"shyly smiling"."normal" children? Special children are normal children.look at each child and not his disability. You may not need to adapt this activity at all other than close supervision.
