you might have to do the test again.
The theory test runs out after 2 years so you may need to retake it - contact the DVLA and they will be able to tell you and perhaps issue more proof if your theory hasn't run out.
depending how many years a few years actually is you may have to take it again as the tests have been changed and theory tests are only valid for a short period of time so yure better just sitting it again or contact the dvla to see if youre on file.

the theory test lasts 2 years if you passed it beond 2 years ago you will have to re take it if not it's still valid
