Answers: I've cut and stick from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation's website - they're the folks that offer the National Merit scholarship - I think you'll be incited:
Students who plan to spend four years in elevated school (grades 9 through 12) earlier entering college full time must take the PSAT/NMSQT contained by their third year (grade 11, junior year). They will be entering the competition that ends when awards are offered in the spring of their fourth high-ranking school year (grade 12, senior year), equal year they will leave soaring school and enter college.
Although some school encourage their sophomores to run the PSAT/NMSQT for guidance purposes, these students must take the tryout again when they are juniors to enter NMSC's competitions if they are spending the usual four years of study within grades 9 through 12.
Sounds like you've get a year to take control of your score on this year's PSAT - use the analysis to identify your areas of impediment and kick some butt subsequent year!
Good luck!
i'm pretty sure you can take it again your junior year. :]
