When is the best time to take the Sat?

Question:Im going to be a junior next year, whens the best time to take the sat? Do I apply online at collegeboard or do i go talk to my counselor?

Answers:
Take it as soon as you feel that you're ready. Or, even if you aren't entirely prepared, it's a good idea to take it as early as possible (sometime this fall) just to see how you do on it-- you'll want to be as familiar with the test as possible when you take it, and since colleges only really look at your highest score it doesn't hurt to take it early to get familiar with everything about the SAT-- from the test setting, to the time limit, the process, and finding out what you might need to work on.
To register for the SAT, you can do that on College Board's website (http://www.collegeboard.com/student/test... ), or I'm sure you could talk to your counselor at school to register.
Good luck!
Once during the fall of junior year, once during the spring of junior year.
The best SAT schedule would be as follows:

Take the Pre-Sat in 7th grade- If you are already passed 7th then its fine dont sweat it. This would just be a prep test for your later ones.

Takes the Pre-Sat in 10th grade- This is the real preliminary SAT test. It will help you guage how much you need to prepare for the real SAT.

Take the real SAT in the sophomore - junior summer- This would be your first time around. It will help you figure out if you need to take the SAT again and you will still have plenty of time to signup and take it again.

Take the SAT again in junior-senior year- Take it again if you are not satisfied with your previos real SAT results.
The morning is the best time to take most tests. Also fall and spring of your junior year, in the morning, is good. Fall will be a practice, and then you can do better in spring. You also have your senior fall, some morning, if you need.
after you take your PSATs you should know what areas you need improvment on. then do some studying. you should be ready by the spring of your junior year.
