The best way to study for the ACT is to have a test prep book guide you through the material, take practice tests, and repeat. My favorite ACT book out there is the Real ACT Prep Guide, which is the only book with real ACT questions. The Princeton Review one might be worth a shot, and don't bother paying money for the SparkNotes version because it's available online at www.sparknotes.com.

Similar thing with the SAT. The Official Guide to the SAT and the Princeton Review, in my opinion, are the best books out there.

Check out www.collegeboard.com and www.act.org for background info on these tests.
Who doesnt freak out about the two most important tests in pre-college life!! Dont worry about it. If you are doing decent in high school then you will do fine on the ACT and SAT. The actual test is hyped up a lot more because of its importance. Most of the talk is just that.. Talk.. Actually the more level headed you take these two tests the better you will do.

Just remember a few things. Take any practice tests that you might find available and brush up on all the old Math formulas and English terms that you may have forgotten. Also take the test as early as possible so that you have time to take it again if necessary. Once again the most important part is taking it EARLY!!
Relax!

Take a deep breath.

Now -- if you're still worried, go to the library and check out "Cracking the SAT" or "Cracking the ACT" by the Princeton Review. You can find practice tests, information on what the test actually tests, and probably almost anything else you need to know.

If you'd rather do your research online, go to http://www.act.org/aap/ for info on the ACT or http://www.collegeboard.com/student/test... for the PSAT (pre-SAT) or http://www.collegeboard.com/student/test... for the SAT.

Have fun!
