I would start with the school. I know Uni's have to keep them on files for years. I expect the schools or if no longer open, the local education authority have to do this too.
I would imagine your only possible chance would be to contact the exam board that you sat the exams with.
The results from 1980 would not have even been available on the internet at that time and they would not make individuals grades available in that way as anyone could check up on you.
It may be possible to contact your school to at least find out which exam board you sat the papers with but I doubt the school would keep your results for 27 years though
