How difficult is the GMAT and how long should I prepare for it?

Question:I know its a tough test. I am out of date on my stats, algebra, calc, and geometry. I want to take my time and study hard. How difficult is the test? Have you taken it? How long did you study? How long would you recommend studying for? And what did you score? Also, which study guide did you use? Thanks

Answers:
Since it is over 4 years of college level material it is hard. If you have been out of school for a while, plan on 6 months of study if you want a good score. As for study guide there are a dozen good ones. Look at Amazon for reviews and for which is the best seller. Also, don't forget to look over your college books.
