I know that there is such an option to decline a grade but I don't know how to go about doing it.anyone know?
Answers:
I work in eaminations in schools and I have never heard of declining a GCSE! That doesnt mean you cant but I dont know how, I would assume you would have to write to the specific exam board (AQA, edexcel etc) but to be honest as others have said it wont affect what you want to do, it wont many any difference to your UCAS records your higher results will count, your lower one wont drop your overall score. Its not an ungraged at least, and a D is still a GCSE in the bag!
Ask at school.
i really don't know
might as well leave it on there. why , because it looks like your 1 exam short for you gcse's.. that looks far more suspect.
D grade isn't so bad, you could contact the examing board , but i'd not bother. your either going onto college or A levels, they are more important than GCSE's trust me.
My god they have made it easy for you kids today. If you don't like a grade just reject it. No wonder so many get into university and employers are complaining that the system does not allow them to distinguish between better scholars.
Oh, I didn't get a good enough grade, think I'll just tell them that i don't want it. What a laugh
Just don't declare it.
But every grade above F gives you points towards a UCAS total, so it could come in useful.
Besides, exams are so easy now, how can you manage to get a D? :D
Oh and Clarky speaks the truth - I'm 25. I don't even have my GCSE and A level grades on my CV, I just have "11 GCSES, 4 A-levels" listed. The rest is irrelevant. My professional qualifications are much more relevant.
Even this method is un required.
No company cares about your UCAS points nor does any university care about them.
I got below an F in french (a NA. No Award) which is like 4%. I was forced to take this even know i wanted to do the 3 sciences. So i just dont put it on my CV. No one has ever questioned it. ( I didnt even get passed 16 year old education GCSE, but i t didnt stop me from attending a upper end uni, just butter up the admissions person and BaM, apptitude test then unconditional.
NEVER care about your education too much, almost no company truely cares unless you want to go on a big graduate drive for a bank or something. Interest along will see you fine (along with some "tailoring" of your life (tut tut those years for me in iraq with UNICEF... made me grow up)). The employer was amazed with my stories and all i did was go to uni and fail.
The worlds all based on ****.
Good luck!
ignore the pathetic people talking about how easy exams are!
the best thing would be to phone the school or wait until you go back and ask then
ive never heard of declining before but i'm sure even if you did decline it it would have to be through the school anyway, like with remarking papers
hope this helps!! and well done with your other results.
you cannot decline a GCSE grade. however, is it worth paying for a re-mark? if you were only a couple of marks away from the next grade it might be worth a try.
