It will be a class. So you would be taking AP English instead of regular English, so it's during school. What time exactly, depends on what period you have English. Occasionally, your teacher might hold after school study sessions especially when it comes time for the exam.
You can take as many courses as your school will allow for your grade, so that depends on your school. During your entire high school career, you might end up taking like 11.
Yes, you can take BC as a freshman, but it's rare. It is only when you have completed Cal AB and all of the prerequisites required. So basically if you have already taken geometry, alg2, trig, preCal, Cal AB, then yes, you CAN take Cal BC.
Concerning prerequisites: Whether there is a test or not, depends on your high school. There was for mine. However, most people just take the prerequisites during their hs years and end up taking BC their senior year (which is why it's usually a 12th grade class). So unless your school has a test for you, you've been taking summer school classes at a local community college, or you somehow manage to take all of these classes in junior high, I'd say just work your way up. Why are you so quick to get to BC? I'll tell you, Calculus is not easy.
