on top of that I'm going to be taking Driver's Ed and SAT Prep courses. I heard AP US has a lot of work and plus I'm planning to major in Finance so history has nothing to do with it.

That's a pretty heavy load. I love history, and I think it's easy, but remember that AP classes ALWAYS involve more work: more assignments, more outside reading, more writing. As a teacher, I (regretfully) advise you to take the "no frills" version.
if your going to major in Finance and you cant handle the burden, you should drop it because taht way you can focus and get excellent grades on your other, more important to your future, classes
AP US History really is a lot of work. Some of those other classes are too. You might be able to pull it off but it will be exhausting. It's a pretty interesting class, but maybe you should wait and take it when you're a senior.
no because it will go on you transcipts fo college it you have a petter chance of getting in somewhere
If you think that you can exempt out of history in college, you might as well take the AP US History class. If you think that you probably don't have what it takes to get a 4 or a 5, given the fact that your course load is pretty heavy, then don't take it.
I managed to take AP US along with two other AP classes and three honors classes and a regular class at the same time It was doable
I believe that having a lot of AP credit will always be a good thing regardless of what major you plan to pursue.
First off, colleges really like it when they see that you challenged yourself by taking a variety of AP classes, not only the ones related to your major. Your chances of getting accepted at a good college are increased.
Secondly, many colleges require students to take classes outside of their major so they get a well-rounded education. I attend Rice University where I am required to take 4 social science classes as well as 4 humanities classes even though I am a bioengineering major. Having US History would allow you to focus more on what you want to do.
Also, there are benefits of knowing US History. In an intellectual conversation about let's say the Mexican American War, you would be able to contribute and impress others. People always look up to those who know their history well.
However, I do want to warn you. If your GPA is going to slip because you are going to fail abysmally in this class due to a rough schedule, you should probably give it up. But note that in college you will be faced with the same predicament all the time...
So all things considered, I would go ahead and take it. It is one of the harder AP courses and making a 5 on it is pretty difficult, but it is always better to go for the challenge.
Good luck, if you end up taking it.
No you shouldn't drop AP US History. AP US History is not too difficult, I got a 5 after reading the free APUSH article on tutorfox:
