Why so much requirements for student visa?

Question:I have been accepted in one of the Uni's in Australia but in order to get a student visa i must show a bank statement of 72,000 US$ and for the last 6months this amount shouldn't be less than 71,500US $ & the bank account should be owned by my relative, not anyone else. Dont you think its unfair? Is there anyother way i could pass this requirement?
Thanks

Australian student visa's are tough. Actually they have really tough immigration rules in general. This to minimize the risk of having poeple coming in the country with different intentions. I'm not talking about terrorists but australia has a lot of problems with immigrants coming in, and hiding and stuff like that. Many of whom get into trouble and end up costing the government lots of money to process.. They are just trying to make sure that they don't end up like the U.S.
You must prove that you can fund your education and your stay in Australia whilst completing your education, therefore the requirements.
My friend what you are saying does not make sense as I am in this industry for the last 6 years and the agent you are going t is not clarifying the issues for you.

1. what do you need to show to come to Australia...

Firstly to get Australian education you need to show the Australian govt. that you do have access to enough money to sustain you during your education. i.e. once you are in Australia you should not start thinking about the fact at how you have risked all your savings in life to come to Australia only to find that you are not able to fit in, survive, or you do not like it here.

Secondly Australia has categorised all the countries in the world according to the behaviour of the citizens of that country in that particular sector. and if you want to blame someone for the fact that the Aust. govt is asking you to show that kind of money blame your own country men and I give the following explanation.

If some one from a country rated as level 1 wants to come to Australia to study.. all they have to do is write a letter to the visa officer for a grant of student visa and as long as they satisfy all ther health and character issues they will be granted a visa.

now on the other hand if someone is from a level 4 country .. then they will have to prove to the Aust. govt that their documentation is genuine and that they have funds which belong to them and which they have obtained through legal means. This is because the deceptions by the people of that country leaves no other options but for the govt to make the barrier to entry for people from these countries so only the genuine one who really fit the bill are allowed in..

I personally believe other than the refugee part of the Australian Migration Program they have a very fair and transparent system.
