University surrounded by USA?

I passed all my GCSEs (yey!), and I want to step to an american university after my a-levels (my 'rents want me to go to nyc). We've be thinking about it for almost a year or so. I'm currently doing geography, politics and drama AS. So I was basically curious for any information people hold before I travel to the careers advisor surrounded by school, the costs and stuff, what intellectual profile I would need, would I requirement a green card, any undergraduate universities bla bla bla? gratitude x

Answers:    The first thing you call for to do is decide what it is that you need to study. This is something only you can opt but you can talk this through your career adviser.

The essential requirements for an international student are:

-Secondary school accounts showing the equivalent of at least a U.S. dignified school diploma
- Financial support documentation, demonstrating sufficient funds to cover the costs of attending the College for one pedantic year, including living expenses*
- ACT, SAT I and SAT II scores*

* These requirements (scores and costs) will change depending on your chosen university so you necessitate to check their website for specifics.

The cost of studying in the United States vary and it depends on what it is you are studying and the school. It can catalogue between $17,000 and $45,000 per year including tuition, books, cost of living and medical insurance etc.

The majority of international students are self-supporting and rely on any their own funds and/or the funds of their parents and other family member.

If your parents are going to cover your expenses they will need to sign an affidavit of support and this must sent surrounded by along with the financial documentation next to your university application.

You will not require a green-card, you will however require a student (F-1) visa and this can only be applied for an obtain once you hold been official in a university and an I-20 as be issued.

To apply for one you need to call on the American Embassy in London (see first link).

Below I own also provided you with links to two public university in New York and here you will find information on their requirements and application procedures.
Well, i would insist on a student visa if from another country. There are many appropriate colleges in NYC, but contained by NY overall there are really great colleges. It adjectives depends on what your looking for, my favorite two (other than CUNYS) are Sarah Lawrence, and NYU. Both are four year schools, both great environments, although one is upstate, and one is surrounded by the big apple itself. Talk to your career teacher, hopefully they are more helpful than I am.

Bye! Good Luck!
Krazy.
i would consider NYU..especially Tisch as your a drama enthusiast. However you will obligation money...as its like lb30,000 per year to study within the US plus an american degree is four years so thats deeply of money. NYU don't give any financial aid to intl students so own a look for international scholarships (google that shizz)
& ermmm...
even though you're not an A* student, it wouldn't hurt to apply to Columbia (its ivy league though...equivalent to oxbridge) and if you get accepted at hand you'd get a nice aid packet! My cousin is within her second year there and she's solely having to recompense lb2500 for tution but she struggles with living costs within NYC...tis very expensive!

lately depends on your financial situation really
they have different right of entry criteria in the US
grades are critical but how your present yourself on the application in essays and extra-cirrics and stuff is critical too.
