In my case I WILL go to Beijing to study abroad next year. I can't WAIT!
I really don't think living off campus is a good idea, i don't know why, I prefer living on campus.
But I do think Shanghai would be a fun place to study in.

i have been to both, and from my experience, the people in shanghai businesses and such tend to be a little racist. I'm caucasian and they were all...standoffish. just because i wasn't chinese. so...i would go to beijing. i had a BLAST there and the shopping's GREAT! as long as you speak chinese! :)
