Okay, I had my Norwegian hubby tell me about the school system there so I could pass it on to you...
Kindergarten is optional there, so kids start first grade at 6 years old. So at the age you would be in our 9th grade, you'd be in the Norwegian version of that, Ni Klasse (I think my spelling might be off).
The difference with Norway's schools and America's schools is that You would attend Barneskole (Elementary school) from the ages of 6-13. Then you would be in Ungdomskole (Middle school) from 13-16. And finally Vidregaaendeskole (High school) from the ages of 16-19. The ages depend on birthdates of course, same as here.
Hope that helps!!
Oh and my husband said that the schools are harder there because they don't have multiple choice questions...I guess they are all essay answer tests and quizzes over there. But I told him he wasn't a good person to answer the question of which country had harder schools since he hasn't been to school in the US!
Good luck to you!
