Don't try to be the center of attention, but be nice to everyone. Don't sit with just people you know, in fact, if you see someone new, see if they want to sit with you as well.
Every freshman is going through what you are. Just don't "burn your bridges" by ignoring other kids who may not be "cool" enough. A lot can change in the next four years. And who knows? If you want to run for student council or something, you want everyone to be able to say "That person has always been nice to me."
Just be yourself. that way u get to fit into the right group.
