Answers:
Different universities have different admission requirements. Are you a citizen of the UK? If so, you do not need to present TOEFL scores. Only citizens of countries where English is not spoken are required to take the TOEFL exam. Usually, universities require:

- 12 years of education - the equivalent of a High School Diploma
- SAT or ACT scores
- More selective universities require SAT II scores
- More selective universities (Ivy Leagues) may also require IB, A-level or AP exams.
- Recommendations
- Essays
- Financial Documents supporting evidence that you have enough funds for your tuition and living expenses - This is only required if you will be applying for a student (F-1) visa.

Contact the universities of your choice and inquire about specific admission requirements for UK students. They will be able to provide you with all the specifics about the exams and documents you will need to submit.

Good luck!
As I said to you in your last question. Your GCSE's complete with the required scores in TOFEL are enough to get you an addmition into an American College of University.

Check to see If your college/university requires you to take the TOFEL as some instituions do waiver this for international students of certain countries.

Note, that gaining an acceptance in an American college or university does gurentee you will be issued with a Visa from the American Embassy.

Edit:

With all due respect to Atena's answer regarding the TOEFL, that is not always the case. You will find that there are only very few American Colleges and Universities waive the rights for international students of English speaking countries to take the test.

For example, The Metropolitan state college of Denver requires all international students to take the TOEFL while the Community College of Denver, waives this for students from English speaking countries. There are also institutions out there that will waive the admission fee and various other little "things" for international students to get them to chose their college.

As I stated earlier and in your other question, each college and university as different admission requirements, check with them and if you have any questions, refer them to the International councilor at the institution.
If your schooling was in English, as I imagine it was, then you don't need to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The other poster is confused.

You do need to take the SAT exam, or, if you'd prefer, the ACT exam. Both are available in the UK. I'll link to the website for the SAT, below.

Not all US universities (some are called colleges - different terminology than the UK) require the SAT, but most tend to want it from foreign students.

There are two main types of SAT exams: the SAT I, and the SAT II. Almost every college will want you to take the SAT I. Colleges differ on if, and how many, and which SAT II exams to take. Their web pages call this out.

Each uni will have a section on its webpage, describing what foreign applicants need to do in order to apply. I'll point you toward one as an example, of a uni I think you could gain admission to, based on your GCSE results, if your SAT scores are high. It may be a slight reach for you, but it'd be worth checking into: UMass Amherst.

As for what the GCSE is equivalent to, in American. Well, I'd consider it just below an American high school diploma. An American high school diploma would fall roughly between the GCSE and the A levels. Many competitive US universities will accept the GCSE, but only if you have a certain number of strong academic passes. Syracuse U, for example, would require you to have five. Other universities will differ. You will likely need to email any uni you're interested in directly to discuss if your particular GCSE grades are strong enough for you to be considered for admission.

There will be some unis that you can get into based on your GCSE scores. Don't despair. We have a million freekin' unis here, and something for everyone. You'll find the right fit.

Good luck!
