Would you choose to live for 5 weeks within Buenos Aires or Santiago. Why (pros + cons)?

I'm going to do a Spanish home-stay through a language program. I want to do it surrounded by either Buenos Aires or Santiago, but I don't know which city is better. Basically which one would you choose and why?

I am going down in attendance to improve my expression, absorb some culture and also enjoy some fun before college. It would be during July/August.
