It is worth going! I studied in Krakow, Poland for one year in 1999/2000. It was a Polish language program with students from all around the world and all levels of Polish were taught (I moved from Poland when I was two so I needed to brush up on my reading, writing and vocabulary). The program was fantastic and I met the most interesting people.
As for a 4 or 5 year degree program taught in English I am sure there are several, Krakow would be the best place to look for them.
The oldest and most famous university in Poland is Uniwersytet Jagiellonski, or UJ for short. UJ might be a starting point for your search.
My suggestion, for whatever it is worth, is to attend the language program for a year and see how you like studying in Poland. While you are there you can do more in depth research as to what school to attend to earn your degree, if you do not like it you can at least transfer the credit from this program to most US universities (I transferred 30 credits).
the website for the language program I attended it http://www.uj.edu.pl/polonia/en/...
I hope this help
you decided to as random people on the internet where you should go to college? wow...
I think that going to a different country for college would be so fun... like start fresh with all new friends but keep in touch with your old ones. I am 50% polish, and can't speak like anything in Polish... :) anyways you should definately do it if you feel like living how your grandparents did and stuff
Poland has produced many brilliant people and I am sure that academic standards are high. For you, now, it would be a wonderful experience. The question is, what would your Polish credentials be worth in the place that you intend to live in afterwards?
I think it would be great to go there for a year, but if you plan to move back to the states to have a career, I suggest graduating from a US university or at least a British one.
if it will do some good well why not .well if was me i would stay in the u.s.a becaves there are more job oppuintys there.think of your furture before living .please
YES YES YES
Poland has some good universities and although the country as a whole is not as strong economically just having the chance to go to europe is awesome.
it will change your life!! you will have the opportunity to travel other countries and broaden your world.
i just came back from germany and cant wait to go back!!
good luck!
Yes, definitely. The youth in Poland are quite open-minded, but some of the older generation are quite fanatical, especially when it comes to anything they regard as a "sect" (what we would call a cult), which includes pretty much everything outside Catholicism. I stayed in Poland for a year for a Baha'i year of service and it was well worth it. Most people are nice. The countryside is beautiful. Warsaw is not that pretty, but it is a very safe city. I used to walk at all hours of the night on my way home from the centre of the city and it was always safe. If you go to Warsaw, it is well worth meeting up with the local Esperanto youth group, Varsovia Vento. They would really make you feel welcome, even if you don't speak Esperanto. They welcome everyone and have amazing trips around the country and barbeques at their garden.
it would be good idea .... u sould go ... meybe u can learn something new .. safe and don't feel alone . u can speak fluent polish ....communicate is no probelm for u .
